The YEP targets vulnerable youth including young mothers, survivors of child marriage and other sexual gender-based violence with Asset Building. This is a series of sessions which build youth’s financial, cognitive, social and health assets. The idea is to build the resilience of youths and their self-esteem, as well as improve knowledge around sexual reproductive health and rights and foster help seeking behaviour. Youths are also paired with mentors in their community who serve as a trusted person and guides them to make positive life decisions. This model was also implemented as part of the DREAMS initiative in Zimbabwe, with CPS providing technical support to partners in replicating the project in various districts across the country.
